Presidential General Elections

What is a Presidential General Election?

A Presidential General Election is the election where voters decide which presidential candidate will be the next president of the United States. This election occurs every four years, as the presidential term of office expires. A voter's political party preference does not matter in this election, as the General Election is not party specific. Rather, any voter may place their vote for any candidate of their choice, regardless of the voter's or candidate's political party affiliation.
