Libby
Access Plumas County Library's largest collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines and graphic novels for adults, kids and teens. Download the Libby app to your mobile device or visit Libby directly through your web browser with this link. Plumas County Library collections are part of the Northnet Library System, a consortium of Northern California libraries.
Kanopy
Featuring a large collection of award-winning films and documentaries, Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video platform you can access through the library. Just create an account (you will need an email address) and add your library card, and you will be able to watch up to three films a month for free.
Palace Project
Every Californian with an email address and an internet connection can now visit California’s Bookshelf and access more than 300,000 eBooks and eAudiobooks, a partnership between the California State Library and The Palace Project. Download the Palace app to any mobile device to get started.
There are five steps to access California’s Bookshelf and create a virtual library card:
- Download the free Palace app on your iOS or Android device.
- Inside the app, use the “find my library” search function to find “California’s Bookshelf.”
- Browse the collection until you find a title you would like to read then either “get” or “reserve” that book.
- Choose the option to create a virtual card and then complete the details in the form. You will need to enable the app’s permission to use your specific location, just one time, for the creation of your library card.
- Look in your email for your library card number. You can borrow items using that number and your new password.

Alexander Street Collection
A diverse collection of music, dance, and theatre content, from instruction to recorded performances. Content providers include the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Qwest TV, Smithsonian, L.A. Theatre Works, and Broadway On-Demand. Funded by the California State Library in partnership with ProQuest, part of Clarivate, under the California K12 Online Content Project.

EBSCO LearningExpress Library and Career Center
LearningExpress can help you build core academic skills, pass the GED, prepare for college, join the military, obtain occupational certification, find a job, change careers, become a U.S. citizen, and much more. Access LearningExpress and the Career Center by signing into your Plumas County Library account at www.plumaslibrary.org. Once logged in, look for the LearningExpress link in the left-hand menu.
(To access a tutorial, take a test, or download an eBook, all new users must register a personal account by providing their first name, email address, and password. You can also create an alternate account without the name/email address requirement by clicking on the “Register without Email” option.)

A global online learning platform that offers anyone, anywhere access to online courses and degrees from world-class universities and companies. More than 5,000 courses, professional certificates, and degrees are available. A limited number of seats are available. When you register for a seat, you will have one month of full access to Coursera. After your license expires, you'll still have access to Coursera's many free courses, and you can add your name to our waiting list to re-enroll the next time a seat is availab

Plumas County Library also has several Plumas & Sierra County newspapers available on microfilm at the Quincy location. (Contact us in advance to check that the microfilm machines are working.) Plumas County Library, with permission from Feather River Publishing and help with the CA Digital Newspaper Collection and CA Revealed, is currently working on getting all microfilm digitized.
