⚠️ A Few Notes to Keep in Mind

The Bookmobile schedule is reviewed and updated three times a year:
πŸ—“οΈ January, May, and October.

Not all requested stops can be added. Approval depends on:
βœ… Safety (weather, parking, staff availability)
βœ… Location fit with current outreach goals
βœ… Community needs and expected usage
βœ… Vehicle access and patron safety
βœ… Available funding and staff resources

We appreciate your interest — and we can’t wait to roll into your community!

The established schedule is reassessed and modified in January, May, and October. Not all requested stops will be added. The schedule is subject to safety limitations (weather or otherwise), staff availability, established stops and outreach events, assumed demographics or usage, location variance, available vehicle parking and patron safety, funding, evaluation of current stops, and more.

Bookmobile staff may need to cancel stops or leave early due to driving and weather conditions, staff availability, or vehicle issues. The Bookmobile is closed on all national and county holidays. (Click here and scroll to the bottom for the full holiday list. Please double check the News & Events tab for any emergency closures.)

Plumas County Library continues to express its gratitude to Plumas Unified School District and especially Patty McCutcheon for hosting the 3Library from February 2022 – August 2024. We would like to thank our El Dorado County library neighbors (the Friends of the Library and Library Director Carolyn Brooks), Friends of Quincy Library, and the other individuals, other libraries and their friends groups, and other organizations for providing funds and supplies for the Bookmobile. Some items originally purchased by Plumas STARS for the Greenville Temporary Library will also be transferred to the Bookmobile, as well materials purchased through various grants after the Dixie Fire.
