The JJCC is a multiagency council responsible for the development and implementation of a continuum of county-based responses to juvenile crime. The coordinating council includes the chief probation officer, as chair, and one representative each from the district attorney's office, Plumas County contract public defender attorneys, the sheriff's department, the board of supervisors, the department of social services, the department of behavioral health, a community-based drug and alcohol program, the county office of education or a school district, a juvenile court representative, at-large community representatives, and representatives from nonprofit community-based organizations providing services to minors.
