The Plumas County Probation Department is committed to protecting the community and minimizing the impact of crimes by providing high-quality professional services to the courts, offenders, and victims.

Function

The Probation Department, established under Section 1203 of the California Penal Code, is primarily charged with the court-ordered supervision of adult and juvenile offenders who are granted formal probation as an alternative to incarceration. The Probation Department administers the adult and juvenile probation programs of the county. These services are provided to promote public safety.
