Multi-Disciplinary Interviews

With the help of Washoe County’s Child Advocacy Center (CAC) Plumas County Sheriff's Office and the Plumas County Victim Witness Assistance Program have access to a coordinated Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). The Washoe County CAC is a child-friendly facility, in which law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical, and victim advocacy professionals, work together to investigate abuse, help children heal from abuse, and hold offenders accountable.

The Washoe County Child Advocacy Center (CAC), through a coordinated Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach, provides direct services to child abuse victims and their non-offending caregivers.  The Washoe County CAC provides advocacy, individual treatment and therapy, forensic interviewing, and medical services.

The MDT is in place to assist with the interviewing of a child that may have been the subject of abuse or other child crimes. The MDT is designed/trained to minimize trauma and provide advocacy to the child victim and their family.  The CAC team consists of professionals from several agencies in Northern Nevada and has a high standard of training/education/care.
