Plumas County Update (As of 3 PM on 101724)

The forecast for the PSPS de-energization is this afternoon at 1700 (5 PM).  316 customers are in scope for impact.  Note that PG&E monitors in real time so if winds do not materialize to threshold levels, then a delay and or cancel may occur.  

As a reminder, our PSPS restoration process is as follows: Once weather “all-clears” have been received, our crews begin to patrol the impacted circuit to inspect for any damages. If damages are found, we must complete repairs before power restoration can occur. Once the circuit is inspected and repairs are made (if needed), we are then able to restore power to those impacted customers on the circuit.   To expedite the patrol and inspection process of our circuits, we are utilizing air operations. Our air operations are staged in the North Valley to respond as soon as is possible when the weather “all-clears” are received.

• Areas Impacted in Plumas County:   Bucks Lake, Haskins.  Feather River Canyon between Rich Bar in Plumas County south to Cresta in Butte County.
• CRC:   With the removal of La Porte / Little Grass Valley Reservoir from the PSPS scope, the CRC in LaPorte will no longer be opened.

• Potential De-Energizing Date and Time in Plumas County:    Friday,  October 18 at 1600 (4 PM)
• Impacted Plumas Customers:  658.   Medical Baseline:  27.    Life Support:   21.   Self-Identified:   13.  
• Areas Impacted in Plumas County:   Belden,  Rogers Flat, Rock Creek within the canyon,  Bucks Lake, La Porte (Litte Grass Valley Reservoir) will be impacted (see the below graphic).  
• PSPS Event Weather Overview:  Behind the system dry northerly winds will develop in the Sacramento Valley on Thursday. Another system will then move over Northern California Thursday night with perhaps a few isolated showers in the Sierra Foothills. High pressure will then quickly build in the Great Basin early Friday, with breezy to gusty offshore flow possible across the Sacramento Valley, the Sierra Nevada, elevated North and East Bay terrain, and portions of the Central Coast.   These winds may linger into Sunday morning before more settled weather could return on Monday. PG&E Meteorology is closely monitoring the forecast for these periods of dry offshore winds, which could bring elevated fire weather.
