June 2, 2026 Primary Election
- Petition for Signatures-in-Lieu of Filing Fees Period: December 19, 2025 - February 4, 2026 (Not including weekends or holidays, closes at 5 p.m.)
- Judicial Notice of Intention to Run Period: January 26, 2026 - February 4, 2026 (Not including weekends or holidays, closes at 5 p.m.)
- Candidate Filing & Nomination Period: February 9, 2026 - March 6, 2026 (Not including weekends or holidays, closes at 5 p.m.)
- Potential Extension for Non-Incumbents: March 7, 2026 - March 11, 2026 (Not including weekends or holidays, closes at 5 p.m.)
- Deadline to Withdraw Candidacy: March 6, 2026 at 5 p.m.
Once filing periods opens, Plumas County Elections Division will begin issuing filing papers. Papers are issued in office and explained as they are issued.
Make sure to read through the candidate filing packet thoroughly for all relevant information and important dates to be aware of.
You must file your papers in the Elections office before the filing period closes (some forms may need to be filed with other agencies at different times, be sure to refer to the filing packet or contact the Plumas County Elections office for questions and clarifications).
All individuals filing for candidacy are responsible for filling out their paperwork accurately, completely, and on time.
