CAL FIRE Releases Updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone State Responsibility Area Map for Plumas County – Public Comment Deadline April 4, 2023
Office of the State Fire Marshal is undergoing a regulatory adoption process to update the existing map that captures Fire Hazard Severity Zones (FHSZ), which is a comprehensive map that ranks California’s State Responsibility Area (SRA)—or rural, unincorporated areas—based on the likelihood different areas will experience wildfire. The last time SRA maps were updated statewide was 2007.
For more information on the process and to determine the FHSZ of a property, the public can search an address using the FHSZ Viewer at osfm.fire.ca.gov/FHSZ
