Asymptomatic/Mass Testing

If you are asymptomatic (no symptoms) but would like to be tested then attending a mass testing event is appropriate. If there is not a mass testing event available then contact your health care provider to schedule an appointment. Each Health Care Facility has a screening process for COVID-19 appointments and testing.

Plumas County Public Health Agency conducts contact tracing on all positive COVID-19 cases and will contact you if you have been identified as a close contact. The definition of close contact is “someone who was within 6 feet of a person with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before symptoms appeared (or, for patients who do not have symptoms, 2 days prior to their test) until the time the patient is isolated. If you have not been contacted by Public Health but still believe you are a close contact to a positive case, call the Plumas County Public Health Clinic at (530) 283-6330.

Option #1 - Contact Closest Health Care Facility:

When you call, inform the Health Care Facility that you are not symptomatic but would like to be tested and your reason for testing. Please do not tell the Health Care Facility that you were referred for testing by Public Health, as Public Health only provides referrals for testing to individuals experiencing symptoms, and close contacts to individuals diagnosed with COVID-19.
