First Day for Receiving Green Waste at the Chester Landfill
The Plumas County Department of Public Works - Solid Waste Division announces that the Chester Landfill will be opening for the summer season.
The first day for receiving green waste at the Chester Landfill will be:
Friday, May 4, 2018
Green waste will be accepted at the Chester Landfill at a reduced rate on the following days:
Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed 12-12:30 PM)
Green waste NOT accepted at the Chester Landfill:
Rounds greater than 12 inches in diameter
Limbs, branches or tree trunks greater than 4 feet in length and 12 inches in diameter
Green waste contaminated with other materials
All loads are subject to strict load checking by the facility attendant. Green waste contaminated with other types of waste or construction debris will be rejected. Rejected loads will need to be disposed by the customer at the Chester-Lake Almanor Transfer Station.
Green waste will continue to be accepted at the Chester-Lake Almanor Transfer Station at a non-reduced rate Friday-Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed 12-12:30 PM).
