REVISED Public Notice - Greenville Pavement Rehabilitation Project

The County of Plumas will be performing pavement rehabilitation of the following roads within the Greenville: Grand Street, Jessie Street, Pine Street, Mill Street, and Ayoob Alley. Old pavement will be removed by a pavement grinder and later resurfaced and/or reconstructed with asphalt concrete. Work has been scheduled to begin on August 6, 2018 due to delays due to a subcontractor’s equipment breakdown. County Public Works crews and a contractor providing pavement grinding will perform the work.


During construction, it will be necessary to close these streets, partially or completely, to vehicular traffic during construction work hours due to safety concerns. No street closure is expected to last more than 12 hours at a time. Street parking will also be restricted. "No Parking" signs will be posted along the streets 3 days in advance and will be enforced. Please see the posted signs for the exact hours and locations as they may vary according to scheduled tasks. Residents should know that access to their driveways may be prohibited for most of the day during the paving operations. If you plan to drive your vehicle while rehabilitation is scheduled in your area, please park it outside the construction area to avoid oil spray or other complications. Please note that the oil and asphalt used during construction is not easily removed from feet, shoes, floors and rugs.


The pavement work is expected to be completed around August 23, 2018, barring unforeseen problems or weather conditions. Grand Street (where the schools are located) has first priority so that the grinding and paving work will completed prior to the start of the school year. Construction in your vicinity may not take place in one continuous time period as there are several phases of construction. It also may not extend for the entire period between (approximate time will be supplied). Except for special circumstances, normal work hours will be between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and on Fridays as necessary. Further maintenance work including signing and striping will occur in August and September.


Public Works Foremen will be on site during work hours. If you have any problems, please contact the Public Works Main Office line at (530) 283-6268. After work hours, please call the Plumas County Sheriff’s Department at (530) 283-6300, to report any problems or road hazards


The street rehabilitation may cause temporary inconvenience because of the nature of work. We appreciate your patience during this period and will attempt to minimize the inconvenience.
